i just got the September issue of Keyboard magazine (Hall of Fame cover) in the mail. it said their Web site has a video tour of Derek Sherinian's keyboard rig that he used for the recording of a new Black Country Communion album. that's the band with Joe Bonamassa, Jason Bonham and Glen Hughes (from Deep Purple).

when he gets to the Solaris, he introduces it as "one of the more amazing synths that i've ever heard... in history... the analog juice and (indecipherable) is just massive".
it's great to see a Solaris in a rig with such fine company, both old and new. as Derek says of the keyboards in the video, "it's like sushi, if you go order a California roll, do you want the fake, imitation colored crab or do you want the nice, expensive snow crab that tastes amazing? that's where i am with my keyboard sounds. i'm not skimping..."
the man clearly has exceptionally fine taste when it comes to keyboards (and sushi)!
