You're right, it's there. In small text right below a bolded text item. I totally missed it!

Can someone tell me what is on the cover? I did get a copy of the review, but not the actual magazine.

Edit...never mind, I’ve now seen the cover online...too bad the Solaris didn’t get there! It was mentioned that we might have a shot at a photo on the cover....

I'm guessing that embedded serial isn't related to your actual serial number of 17 at all. Bits 6-10 have 10001 in binary (17), but bit 11 is in use already so there's no way to encode more than 32 serial numbers in that location.

I like SoS, it's one of the few magazines that is still worth something IMO. Most of them went from 200 pages to 50 with tons of ads in the middle, but SoS actually still has content. It covers hardware, software, etc. Not a fan of the video stuff but whatever, it's still worth the subscription ...
