It will be kind of difficult for me to diagnose what the problem is because I cannot reproduce it here. I am able to calibrate OK with any version of the OS.
stefanovic, if calibration works fine for you in version 2.1.0 but not in version 2.2.0 so far I cannot see a reason for that. At first I ...

Re: Calibration result not kept
Is it the case that all controllers are not remembering their calibration? (including pitch wheel, ribbon, joystick, expression pedal)
Or is it just the mod wheel and aftertouch?
Also, what version of the OS are you using? You can find the OS version number on the System page 4/4.

Re: Calibration result not kept
What version of the OS are you using?
Are you entering the calibration process by pressing the three buttons 1, 3, and 8? Or by pressing Enter when booting starts? (Please do the former.)
There is no battery in the Solaris. Calibration settings are saved to non-volatile flash memory.

Re: Sustain pedal has no effect
I need to correct my last post. I thought the pedal I have was a Yamaha FC5 but it isn't. It's an FC3 which is the half-damper pedal. The FC3 is a bit odd and won't work for the Solaris.
We have tried a Yamaha FC4A and that works. I've tried a couple of simple switch pedals labeled PS-10 (maybe an ...

Re: Sustain pedal has no effect
Thanks for reporting this. I normally use a Studiologic VFP2 dual pedal which is working fine. But I happen to have an FC5 pedal which I just checked and you're correct that something is not working right with it. I'll look into it.

Re: OS 2.2: Mod Matrix Reporting does not display certain filter modulation paths
Yes, confirmed. Thanks for reporting! It'll get fixed.
Also I just wanted to mention something since it wasn't in the notes: if the Amount parameter is set to zero then the modulation won't appear in the ModMtx page even when source and destination are set because it doesn't really have any effect ...

Re: "No CF-Card found"
Hi christeck, just a couple of questions.
- You haven't used the Solaris in a while. Was it reading the CF-Card OK before you tried to do the update? Meaning the last couple days?
- After copying the solarisos.raw file, editing the doflash.txt file and turning on the Solaris, did it even attempt to ...

Re: Bank Select via MIDI?
Yes, it's possible to select banks. Bank select is done using two CC's which are CC00 and CC20H. (That's 20 hexadecimal which is 32 in decimal.) CC20H is the least significant byte (LSB) and CC00 is the most significant byte (MSB). According to the MIDI specification you need to send both MSB and ...

Re: SysEx Update for v2.x.x OS Users
Thanks! You are correct on both accounts. There is a typo in the SysEx document. The family code should be "10 00" and the family member code should be "01 00". (Least significant byte first.) So what the Solaris is sending is correct.

Re: SysEx Update for v2.x.x OS Users
You can send a preset just by sending all the bulk dump blocks to the Solaris. There's no SysEx message for "Here comes some preset data." You can just send all the blocks. The frame start and end is not necessary but is OK to send.

Re: Is ratcheting important to you?
ok, and for those pairs, only the osc tuning would be slightly different, right?
You almost got it. It’s hard to be clear because I don’t have the right words for it. I guess you can call it voice tuning. When a note is started its voice tuning can be set by internal code and can be different for ...

Re: Is ratcheting important to you?
Yes, he is using the seqs in KeyStep mode because without having access to the firmware code, that's the most practical (and maybe the only) means to implement VCM on synths with such seqs.
What I am saying is that I don't think he is achieving what he calls VCM using sequencers in these other ...

Re: Is ratcheting important to you?
I read that guy’s web page. I think his original point makes some sense. With an analog polysynth, once it warms up, each voice settles to be more or less stable although the voices may settle into a different random place. Whenever voice #1 plays it always plays the same as it did before but it may ...

Re: opposite of Note
I guess you are right I hadn't spent a lot of time thinking about it. But doesn't it give you the same effect? If you're modulating the cutoff freq then it will open the filter more as you go down the keyboard instead of less. I suppose you can also use MaxVal as another modulator to add to that ...

Re: opposite of Note
If you have a mixer available, I think one way would be to send the Note through the Mixer and set that mixer input to a negative value. Then modulate with the Mixer. The Solaris is modular!
