Analog Inputs as CV Inputs
According to the manual (pg 23) external control signals such as from an external LFO can be used through the analog inputs. Has anybody tried to send CV signals through the analog inputs and used them as additional mod sources? I have a Moog MP-201 Multi-Pedal that I'd like to connect. At a minimum it will provide an additional expression pedal or up to a combination four LFO or EG.

Re: Analog Inputs as CV Inputs
When i ask this question one year ago, they tell me that was not possible because analog input are AC-coupled, so you can only received "high"-frequency signal on those input. I'ven't my solaris yet, so i'm not totally sure of that.

Thanks. But all this makes me wonder what type of equipment can be connected.
In the meantime, my Moog MP-201 also sends out Midi.

Yes Jamie,
all that isn't very clear,
for sure you can have audio signal on those inputs.
But an LFO, i don't know what voltage can be plug in ? i don't find it in the manual, but they say ( p 23, as you notice ) an LFO from a modular system can be plug in to synchronize Solaris with it, strange....., it seems to be in contradiction with the answer i had previously. ( perhaps it's not in contradiction, bcause my question was not exactly the same : can i trig a solaris's adsr with a pulse from my modular )
I shall try it when i 'll receive my solaris ( with an lfo and an attenuator from my modular system ).

Re: Analog Inputs as CV Inputs
There is no way to produce a trigger signal from an audio signal. There is an Envelope Follower, but that just creates an envelope from an input signal.
I'd like to add triggers to the ribbon - we discussed it briefly, as well as making the ribbon output a MIDI control value, but for now, these are just being thought about.
My understanding is that the Analog Inputs are AC-coupled, so a DC control signal would be shifted. I don't have a modular system to try this idea out either, so I'll be very curious as well as to your tests. Perhaps it does not work, in which case I'd better edit the manual!

Ok, i've try to plug an external lfo in one of the input and it's perfectly ok, you can control anything with it.
Nice.
Nice.

nice news ! i will try it with my moog voyager XL !

Re: Analog Inputs as CV Inputs
You know, I'd be really interested to know what is a safe voltage range for the Solaris to handle. I mean - just because it works doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't causing some damage, does it? I don't really know but I'd like to be sure.
So - what is the correct voltage range to use? Plus and minus or positive only?
I'd love to integrate the Solaris with some of my other gear but these are questions I'd like answered first! Anyone know?
Thanks very much.

Re: Analog Inputs as CV Inputs
I try with an lfo wich deliver +- 10 V and i was perfectly ok.
The only point is that the range of the modulation is not very high, as if the Solaris expect more than 10 V.

Re: Analog Inputs as CV Inputs
Thanks for that - over 10 volts, eh. I kind of feel a bit nervous about that, although probably for no good reason! Presumably someone in the manufacturing team must actually KNOW what it was designed to use! Please tell us!!

Re: Analog Inputs as CV Inputs
I would also like to know if this works. If it does, It will be amazing!
Re: Analog Inputs as CV Inputs
Any chance to get an update on this? What is possible? What is safe?
Tnx

yes this is very interesting and also keen to know just in case ?
