Well I never really thought anything good would come along for a reasonable price, but when adding an extra Expression Pedal to my live rig I was just about to buy the MIDI Solutions Pedal, then saw this KMI QuNexus would do the same, as long as you used a Roland EV-5.
Then I started reading about the little thing a ma jig and it has CV In and Outs, PAT, etc. Lots of great stuff, so I guess I will be the first guy to use PAT Live with Solaris.
Imagine FIlters by pressure, Wavetable Shape amounts, LFO rates, etc.etc.
AM I dreaming or is this really possible for 150 bucks...?

The QuNexus does have PolyAT- you just need to be comfortable playing small pads instead of regular-sized keys. CME makes the X-Key in two and three octave versions, which have full-sized (though shallow) keys with PolyAT for a similar price.

The X-Key needs to go through a computer to send out PAT - is that true for the QuNexus?

KMI does sell a separate MIDI Expander for the QuNexus; for $45.

Bought the whole package and must advise all to get a PAT board.
The QUNexus Pads are perfect if angled on top of another controller. That way the pads really make better sense. But for editing overdubs, and seated work it's OK.
But the CV Inputs are great for pedalwork and the CoMa features and Ive Edit are awesome.
I use clips like a DJ using Abletons Barely Live, only mine are seques and SFX over real time performing. Just trying to stay hip.

I was one of the Kickstarter purchasers of the QuNexus; I thought it was a really well-made, functional piece of gear, but in the end I just couldn't warm to the small pads.

I can understand. It's different, but since it's in the upper right on the top tier at a 45 degree angle for me, it seemed to work out OK.
I only wanted another pair of CV inputs for pedals, but this little puppy has so much more.
Now I trigger segues and SFX like clips, have an extra sustain I use for portamento and exp for wah-wah, filter sweeps, and master volume.
Best 225 I ever spent actually, with the exception of the BCF 2000.

Anyone here using the MIDI In of Solaris notice the weird boot time visuals when you boot up with the MIDI In connected....?
I just take the BCF MIDI B Out (Thru mode) into Solaris so all controllers have access, but the experience is trippy to say the least.
I think I can wait until after Boot up to connect....
Makes me a little nervous.

Jimmy, what is it you see? Could you send me a video clip?

OK < got a video from my camera, how can I post it, I don't cackle too much on the internet as I see Policemen in my soup, so I am not sure how to post videos.
I am up for any suggestions...

Boot time is 2:40 seconds, what a light show though as the buttons and LEDs look great. Could be a future selling point for kids who like those mashines and such.

Just email the video clip to me privately.

Video sucks as I tried to capture the activity and chasing the lights and LCDs.

Also, you can use midi - mapping. I use the Ableton environment with MAX for LIVE to do some neat homebrew midi SOLARIS and it works really, really well. Oh, and by the way, I am NEVER selling the machine though it would be great to get the SOLARIS sources so I could perhaps publish some open-source options for folks. Perhaps one day that will become available.
