Although it's still early, I wanted to make note of this event in Munich on 16-17 October. I will be there showing the Solaris, so if you are in the area, please come by and say hello!

Here's detailed info: http://fa.utfs.org/synthesizertreffenmuenchen/

John B.

p.s. I just saw that the page says registration was requested to be done by 8 August. I suggest contacting Florian Anwander for further details, or fill out the form available on this link: http://fa.utfs.org/synthesizertreffenmu ... ldung.html

The Munich presentation I did is now online. Many thanks to Chris (online name ‘0808’) for his hard work to get it all “downgraded” so that it would be loadable onto Vimeo (took him 3 passes to get it!).

At about 35 minutes long, you might not have be able to sit through all at once, but I did try to play a bit more and not just talk! :-)

Also, a big ‘Vielen Dank’ to Florian Anwander for organizing and coordinating everything for this event - the first time it had been held in Munich. I appreciated meeting many synth enthusiasts there, and enjoyed a few spare moments checking out a lot of rare and special synth gear (remember, I’m a synth ‘geek’ as well :-) )

Cheers,
John B.

Great job John! It would've been nice to see some ribbon controller action, but there were some cool joystick things you were doing. Some of those presets your friend made were excellent as well. Can't wait! :D
Have a safe flight back home.

:D I'm glad you liked my patches!! I feel like I just got to the tip (of the tip) of the iceberg on this thing before I had to give it back!!! Once you spend a bit of time with the Solaris, it spoils you... truly. It is so deep.

Cheers,

Stephen

Excellent demo.
I think most folks realize the recording is un engineered, but my how nice the synth sounds even in such a comprimised recording.
The seperate Osc Glides sound very much like the analog beasts of yore.
Samples and Wavetables sound really nice too.
Well done JB...

Hey John,

***GREAT*** DEMO on the SOLARIS --- I really loved it.

As I am also on the list for FAIRLIGHT 30A Anniversay edition instrument I did cross-post and pointed the SOLARIS out to the Fairlight community (okay - I'm guilty, I've owned two Fairlight CMI's). I felt it was important for them to know about SOLARIS since you've done a great job (Fairlight released news in 2009 but have yet to provide a demo and are going through their own woes in producing it). I wanted to thank you for such a great demo on VIMEO and let you know that I'm with you and waiting the delivery, as and when it's ready, all the way. I'm looking forward to creating sounds on it and I am excited even more having watched your explanations and demonstrations. Congratulations!!!!

Thanks,

-A
